Chris Chambers has been selected to stand as your Conservative candidate in May’s County Council elections.
Chris has been a Suffolk County Councillor since 2017 and successfully led the authority’s efforts in investing up to £45m in Suffolk’s special education provision as Deputy Cabinet member for Education.
Chris is passionate about protecting our greenspaces at a time of increased home building, and strongly believes that whilst we must develop new homes, they must be in the right places with adequate infrastructure from the beginning, whether that is roads, schools or healthcare facilities.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused widespread damage to our economy and society, and Chris believes government need to place greater emphasis on recognising the damage lockdown has had on people’s mental health. Chris says “we must continue to support business, especially those businesses in the hospitality sector that have been hit so badly over the last year”.
Outside of his role as a councillor, Chris is the Chief Operating Officer of People Value Limited, a leading provider of employee reward and recognition, benefits delivery and wellbeing solutions that serve companies throughout the UK. Chris needs your support in May's election so we can continue to improve education, protect our rural greenspace and build better infrastructure for Gipping Valley.
Chris's Suffolk County Council Division of Gipping Valley includes the Parishes of Akenham, Barham, Bramford,Claydon, Flowton, Great Blakenham, Hemingstone, Henley, Little Blakenham & Whitton, within the Mid Suffolk Wards of Blakenham, Bramford and Claydon & Barham, and sits within the Central Suffolk & North Ipswich Constituency.
