My wife, who has family from Suffolk, and I moved to make our permanent home here in 2011. I have worked in charitable and private sector organisations. I believe that good local government is important and plays a vital role in supporting sustainable communities. Prior to moving to Suffolk, I served for 16 years on Westminster City Council.
I was elected to the County Council in 2017 and my role is to serve everyone living and working in the Wickham Division. I am also the Deputy Cabinet Member for Transport. The role focuses on rail and community transport issues involving decisions taken by the County Council or helping manage our input into the decisions of others, including train operators and bus companies.
I serve on the Sizewell C Joint Local Authority Group which is a focal point for managing dialogue with EDF during the period leading up to a decision on whether to build the Sizewell C station.
Suffolk is an amazing County - coastal heaths, wooded vales, and a variety of villages and market towns alongside larger urban centres such as Ipswich and Lowestoft. Our diverse County creates jobs and draws visitors for work and leisure. Pressures result as well, especially around housing, transport needs and care for young and old in their communities. I believe in the long-term sustainability of communities in Suffolk and will fight hard to support them.
My Suffolk County Council Division of Wickham spans two Parliamentary Constituencies. The Parishes of Campsea Ashe, Pettistree, Ufford & Wickham Market are within the East Suffolk District Council area and are within the Central Suffolk & North Ipswich Constituency. My other Parishes sit within the Suffolk Coastal Constituency.
